I Am Not An Actor

I spend most of my time in Los Angeles although I am not an actor. The world of media excited me since I was a kid. I grew up - literally - in the news room of one of Greece's largest newspapers. My father was a journalist. I would visit his office everyday until I turned twelve years old. I have a BA degree in Cinema and Communications. I call myself a journalist but I always had a strong interest in movies. In 2009, I graduated with a B.A. degree in Communications from California State University, Northridge. I like exploring the field of communications and its overall potential; without focusing on one single form of media. While still attending high school; I published the first national newspaper for youth in Greece. The newspaper's circulation reached 125,000 copies per month in high schools all over Greece. Due to this success, I was invited to the European parliament to interview the president of the European Union, at that time, Pat Cox. In addition, I interviewed the president of the European Commission and former Italian Prime Minister, Romano Prodi. I was accepted by a Greek University after high school, but took a different route. I took a job offer as a full-time reporter for one of the most popular Greek investigative TV shows, "Hidden World," often investigating and reporting on tough issues such as drugs, terrorism and homicides. However, I wanted to travel. I resigned after one year, took a plane, and landed at JFK to study... and discover America. While in NY, I worked for the New York City public radio (WNYE 91.5 FM) co-hosting the Greek-American Show Aktina. Then, I traveled to Los Angeles to cover the Golden Globe Awards and ... since then I call Los Angeles "home." In my 26 years of living, I have interviewed countless politicians, actors, musicians-both very interesting and not so interesting people. Until 2008, I was a correspondent for the largest circulating Greek newspaper, Proto Thema. Some of my exclusive interviews have been with: Former US President Bill Clinton, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Tom Hanks, Gerald Butler, Micky Rourke, Sophia Loren, Steven Spielberg, Alexander Payne, Michael Bloomberg (NYC Mayor), Arianna Huffington, former Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi, 20th Century Fox CEO Jim Gianopulos, Dow Chemical CEO Andrew Liveris, Steve Forbes, and Investment guru John Calamos among others. I also had the opportunity to cover the 2008 & 2012 US elections. The last four years I have built and been operating several online projects. The most popular ones are GreekReporter.com, the largest International Greek news portal & news agency and HireAGreek.com, a social network to connect Greece's unemployed population with foreign employers. In the summer - which I usually spend in Greece - I work for Agiocampos Bay. While not in Greece, I am probably in the US doing "everything" for Greek Reporter.
